ATOM — Robot Basket (KRAI 2025)

Achievement: National Top 8 (5th place). I designed the robot's electrical system, laid out the PCB, and wrote the embedded firmware. The motor driver accepts UART commands, validates each packet, and drives several BTS7960 channels with LEDC PWM. A watchdog cuts motor output when the control link goes quiet, and firmware diagnostics feed the operator UI.

ATOM is UPGRIS Robotic Team's entry for KRAI 2025, themed basket robot. My contribution spanned the electrical system end to end: the wiring architecture, custom PCB layout, and the embedded firmware that runs the robot. The motor-driver board listens for UART command packets, validates them, and drives seven BTS7960 channels with LEDC PWM at 20 kHz / 10-bit resolution. A watchdog cuts the motor duty whenever a valid packet has not arrived within the timeout window, and the firmware logs sequence counts, rejected packets, and emergency-stop state for the operator UI.
