A multi-box system: control units on Arduino Nano and ESP32 talk over ESP-NOW, wired runs use RS-485 with MAX485, external ADC (ADS1115) reads analog sensors, and an I/O expander (PCF8575) extends digital output. One box acts as the gateway, forwarding data to cloud services over HTTP. The control logic covers temperature and humidity, fertigation sequences, and time-windowed actuator limits.
Highlights
- Three control boxes with wireless and wired links
A greenhouse monitoring and fertigation automation system built from
three cooperating control boxes (Box A, Box B, Box C). Arduino Nano and
ESP32 handle local control and talk to each other over ESP-NOW; wired
runs use RS-485 with MAX485 for noise immunity. An ADS1115 external ADC
reads analog sensors, a PCF8575 I/O expander extends digital capacity,
and Box C acts as the gateway forwarding ESP-NOW data to the cloud over
HTTP. The control logic manages temperature and humidity, runs the
fertigation sequence, and limits actuator operation to defined time
windows.
